We have GREAT news to share with you!

The Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) Board of Directors has selected the Newport Opera House Association project application to receive a CDFA Tax Credit Program award in the amount of $181,070.00!!

That means we will be able to leverage NH Business Tax Credits to upgrade our stage lighting system, install a new audio system and procure a projection system capable of showing high-definition digital movies.  The CDFA has recognized that a project like ours “provides a strong community economic benefit by increasing access to arts and culture, as well as supporting additional economic activity in downtown Newport and the region.”

Now we need the help of the NH Business Community!  We ask that you purchase tax credits from us so that we can receive funding from this program.

We are eternally grateful to the CDFA for choosing us as an award recipient of the Tax Credit Program!!  If you own a NH business and would like more details about how you can participate, click here.

Show Rescheduling Update

Dear Friends,

WE MISS YOU and hope you are staying safe and well!   While we have been closed due to Covid-19, improvements are being made at the Newport Opera House with new floors being installed throughout the building.  Our stage has been brought back to its original luster thanks to some major refinishing and we can’t wait for you to see it!

We are considering a variety of events for our 2021-2022 Season that will make it possible for us to keep our patrons, volunteers, staff, crew and entertainers safe.  Under the current restrictions imposed by the State of New Hampshire, our seating capacity has been reduced to approximately 30% and finding a balance between high quality entertainment and financial viability is challenging.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 2, 2021 and October 8-10, 2021 so be sure to put that on your calendar.  We are talking about a big Gala Event during the summer to kick off the upcoming season as well as bringing back our popular Halloween Masquerade Dance.  When we have more events lined up, we will update our FB page and website so please check back regularly for the latest NOHA news.

Thank you for your patience, support and kindness as we navigate through these uncertain times.  We look forward to seeing all of you back in our beautiful Opera House soon!
