The Newport Opera House Association is thrilled to bring Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka to life—and we’re searching for performers of all ages to join the fun! From the eccentric Willy Wonka to the curious kids, colorful families, and mischievous Oompa-Loompas, this high-energy musical offers something for everyone who loves to sing, act, and tell a great story
Auditions:
February 17 @ 6 PM: Ages 8 – 17
February 18 @ 6 PM: Ages 18 & older
February 19 @ 6 PM: Callbacks
What to bring? A song (accompanist provided) and your passion for storytelling! Acting scenes will be provided for select roles.
Roles Available:
Willy Wonka, Candy Man, Phineous Trout, Charlie Bucket, Mr. & Mrs. Bucket, Grandpa Joe, Grandpa George, Grandma Josephine, Grandma Georgiana, Augustus Goop, Mrs. Gloop, Veruca Salt, Mr. Salt, Mike Teavee, Ms. Teavee, Violet Beauregarde & Mrs. Beauregarde.
Ensemble: Mixed ages, male & female, ages 8+ (Charlie’s friends, other parents, cooks, squirrels & Oompa-Loompas.)
